can I decide how much of the work i want you to do?
Yes. I am fully flexible in terms of providing ideas on design and planting schemes, helping with the project at certain key points, liaising with your contractors, or overseeing the entire project.
Are you insured and licensed?
I am covered by professional indemnity insurance. Any contractor would also be asked to confirm they are insured appropriately, and required licenses would be obtained, as necessary.
What kind of gardens do you advise on?
I have designed gardens from large to small, simple to more complex, for those wanting an emphasis on the planting, to family gardens with play areas. Also those gardens with quirky shapes, terraced slopes and town gardens.

A bit about me

My Mum taught me a lot about gardens and fostered my interest from a young age. Much later, I found a passion for gardens when I bought my first home. And later still, I set up Didsbury Open Gardens, a charity event which is now in its 12th year. So I have seen a lot of gardens, and worked on quite a few, including my own.
When I left the corporate professional world where I was an event and project manager for over 25 years, I found I could combine those skills with my love of gardening and successfully deliver creative ideas and garden solutions for people who wanted to make the most of their garden.
I've now done that for friends, clients and also more recently advised on garden designs across Manchester to raise funds for St Ann's Hospice, which I continue to support through donating a portion of my fees. I am currently studying for a Diploma in Garden Design with the British Academy of Garden Design, while continuing to enjoy helping garden owners realise their vision for their gardens. I believe that a garden should be a source of happiness and pleasure!
